Some Estimation Approaches of Intensities for a Two Stage Open Queueing Network

چکیده
In this paper we propose a consistent and asymptotically normal estimator (CAN) for intensity parameters ρ1 & ρ2 for a queueing network with distribution-free inter-arrival and service times. Using this estimator and its estimated variance, a 100(1− α)% asymptotic confidence interval for intensities is constructed. Variance-stabilized bootstrap-t, Bayesian bootstrap, Percentile bootstrap are also applied to develop the confidence intervals for intensities. A comparative analysis is conducted to demonstrate performances of the confidence intervals of intensities for a queueing network with short run.

Comparison of Different Confidence Intervals of Intensities for an Open Queueing Network with Feedback
In this paper we propose a consistent and asymptotically normal estimator (CAN) of intensities 1 , 2 for a queueing network with feedback (in which a job may return to previously visited nodes) with distribution-free inter-arrival and service times. Using this estimator and its estimated variance, some 100 1 % asymptotic confidence intervals of intensities are constructed. Also boot...
متن کاملEstimation Approaches for Mean Response Time of a Two Stage Open Queueing Network Model
In the analysis of queueing network models, the response time plays an important role in studying the various characteristics. In this paper data based recurrence relation is used to compute a sequence of response time. The sample means from those response times, denoted by r̂1 and r̂2 are used to estimate true mean response time r1 and r2. Further we construct some confidence intervals for mean ...
متن کاملAn Integrated Approach for Measuring Performance of Network structure: Case study on power plants
Data envelopment analysis (DEA) and balanced scorecard (BSC) are two well-known approaches for measuring performance of decision making units (DMUs). BSC is especially applied with quality measures, whereas, when the quantity measures are used to evaluate, DEA is more appropriate. In the real-world, DMUs usually have complex structures such as network structures. One of the well-known network s...
متن کاملCapacity planning in the hospital queueing network with blocking: simulation-based optimization approach
Introduction: Hospital administrators have always faced the challenge of providing the best possible health services in a resource-limited environment. The patient flow throughout the hospital is affected by lack of the capacities that can lead to bed-blocking among the hospital units. In this research, the patient flow in the hospital is modeled as an open queueing network with blocking. Then,...

We study several variations of a multiclass closed queueinp network model, all closely related to the open priority network of Lu and Kumar. Foi each of our examples it is shown that, as the population size n —• oo, the long-run utilization rate of each server approaches a limit strictly less than one. Thus no "bottleneck station" emerges in the heavy traffic limit. This is analogous to the "ba...
